We recognise the resilience and determination of physically challenged traders who work in Lagos’s bustling auto parts markets such as Ladipo, Mushin, and Apapa. Many face barriers due to limited mobility, poor accessibility, and social stigma. We bridge this gap by offering advocacy, financial empowerment, skills training, and business partnerships that enable them to thrive in their trade despite the challenges they face.

Our Story: How We Started

For over a decade, I worked as a trader in Nigeria’s busy auto spare parts markets. Day after day, I witnessed the determination of men and women who gave their all to build businesses that sustained their families. But too often, I also saw a painful reality, traders forced to close their shops, not because they lost their customers, but because illness or accidents made it impossible for them to continue.

Some were struck down by diabetes or other chronic conditions, others by accidents that left them handicapped. These were people who once stood tall as breadwinners and community leaders, now struggling to survive as the businesses they built slowly slipped away.

Watching this happen again and again opened my eyes. It wasn’t just about lost income, it was about lost dignity, lost hope, and families left in despair. I and my spouse (Sophia Amazu) knew something had to change.

That is why this GCS Home Care was founded: to step in where society often looks away. Now we make room to care for those who paved the way for us. We honour their hard work by providing compassionate home care and by empowering physically challenged traders in the auto parts business to keep moving forward, despite the challenges life has placed in their path.
